Sugar daddies in Montreal, in English and French
On 3 October 2026, a man's account registered in Canada scrolled the Gallery for women, and a woman's account scrolled it for men. The cards whose town label sits in the Montreal area came to 134 women's profiles (median age 27) and 124 men's profiles (median age 46). Town labels, not a headcount of the city.
The larger pool is on the Toronto page. The method for both samples is on who is on the site in Canada.

Who is on SugarDaddyMeet in Montreal?
On 3 October 2026 the Montreal-area slice of our Gallery sample was 134 women's profiles and 124 men's profiles. The towns folded into that slice are Montreal and its island suburbs, Laval, Longueuil, the South Shore and North Shore towns, Terrebonne, Mirabel and Saint-Jérôme. A card that says Laval, Longueuil, Terrebonne, Mirabel or Saint-Jérôme is in these figures. A card that says Quebec City is not.
The women's median age in the area was 27, against 28 for the full women's sample of 1,011. 78 of the 134 were marked open to travel. 4 of the 134 showed a Premium badge. The men's median was 46, against 42 for the full men's sample of 1,011. Of the 124 men's cards, 12 were under 30, 25 were 30 to 39, 38 were 40 to 49, and 49 were 50 or older. 57 were marked open to travel. 26 showed a Premium badge.
Read those men's ages with the scrape, not against a fantasy of the city. The men's Gallery was partly ordered by age: the median drifted younger as the scroll went on, and the sample leans older. The same scrape produced both the Canada-wide median of 42 and this area's 46. The cards still do not say "sugar daddy". They are men's profiles.
The island is not the population either. Statistics Canada's table 17-10-0148-01 puts the Montréal census metropolitan area at 4,597,837 people on 1 July 2025, a preliminary estimate on 2021 boundaries, not a city-proper count and not a census night headcount (Statistics Canada, table 17-10-0148-01). Our 134 and 124 are cards on one website. The platform's own Canada page, read 4 October 2026, claims "over 85,000 active members in major Canadian metro areas (Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal)". That sentence is the platform's marketing line. It is not this count, and it is not split by city.
- Women in the area134 cards, median age 27
- Men in the area124 cards, median age 46
- Open to travel78 women, 57 men

Should a Montreal profile be written in French?
Write it in both, and put the French where the preview can still see it. Across Quebec, not just the Montreal towns, 72 of 188 women's bio previews were in French, and 47 of 171 men's previews were. Every one of those French women's previews was on a Quebec card: the count outside Quebec was 0. The preview is the first roughly 150 characters. Anything after the cut is invisible until someone opens the profile.
The Office québécois de la langue française does not hand you a term to use. On 4 October 2026 the Vitrine linguistique search (Banque de dépannage linguistique and Grand dictionnaire terminologique) returned no fiche for "sugar daddy", for "sugar baby", or for "papa gâteau" (Vitrine linguistique). The search returned "Aucun résultat n'a été trouvé". The English words can stay. A stiff translation pasted underneath will not do the job.
Name a place you actually go. A street, a dish, the night you are free. "Montreal" is already on the card. Leméac's own site calls its room a restobistro on Laurier in Outremont and prints the menu in French and in English. Four lines in your bio can do that.
Five checks before you reply to a Montreal card, or before you publish your own:
- Put a French line first if you want it read. The card preview is about 150 characters, and it is cut off. A French sentence buried under a long English intro never reaches the Quebec reader.
- Name a street, not the whole island. The city filter already says Montreal. A bio that mentions Laurier, Saint-Denis, or Place d'Youville is harder to fake than "love this city".
- Use the free age filter. In this area's men's cards the median age was 46, and 49 of 124 were 50 or older. The Canada-wide men's median in the same scrape was 42. The gallery order leans older, so treat the gap as a hint, not a headcount of the city.
- A Premium badge is a mark on the card, not a receipt. 26 of 124 men's profiles in the area showed one on 3 October 2026. Badges can be hidden, and a badge does not prove anyone paid.
- Stop if the first ask is an Interac e-transfer. Get Cyber Safe lists any financial request before you have met as a red flag, including pressure to send money, crypto, or gift cards. You do not need a second message to decide.
Where in the city do people actually meet?
The cards do not name a neighbourhood. They name a town. The streets below are not in the Gallery data. The City of Montreal's about page lists Le Plateau-Mont-Royal and Le Sud-Ouest among the boroughs (montreal.ca). The rooms checked on 4 October 2026 sit in Old Montreal, on Laurier West in Outremont, on Sherbrooke Street West, on Drummond Street, and on Notre-Dame Street West.
- Old MontrealGibby's, Holder and Crew Collective all place themselves here, on Place d'Youville, McGill and Saint-Jacques. Addresses and hours are in the next section.
- Plateau-Mont-RoyalThe city names it as a borough. Leméac, the Laurier bistro we could check, places itself in Outremont, the borough beside it. A Saint-Denis page that also carried gambling spam is not linked.
- Sherbrooke and DrummondMaison Boulud is in the Ritz-Carlton. Bar George is in the Mount Stephen hotel and calls the block downtown. People call those blocks the Golden Square Mile. Neither page used that name.
- Notre-Dame Street WestFoiegwa's contact page gives the street and does not name a neighbourhood.
Laval, Longueuil and the South Shore are already inside the 134 and the 124. A first meeting "in Montreal" can mean a bridge. The free city filter is how you stay on the island. A bio is not.
Which rooms were open for a first meeting?
Seven rooms, each opened on its own website on 4 October 2026. Where a page printed a price, it is below. Check opening hours again before you go.
Old Montreal, daytime or a full dinner
Crew Collective & Café lists 360 Saint-Jacques and says the cafe is open every day, in the former Royal Bank headquarters, with Traffic Coffee. Other people are sitting there. That is what you want for a first hour. Gibby's lists 298 Place d'Youville, H2Y 2B6, and says it is never closed for dinner. Hours on that contact page: Monday 4:45pm to 10pm, Tuesday 11:30am to 10pm, Wednesday and Thursday 11:30am to 10:30pm, Friday and Saturday 11:30am to 11pm, Sunday 11:30am to 10pm. No menu prices were readable on the contact page. Holder lists 407 McGill Street, suite 100a, H2Y 2G3, and says the brasserie opened in 2003. Hours: Monday to Wednesday 11:30am to 10pm, Thursday and Friday 11:30am to 10:30pm, Saturday 5pm to 10:30pm, Sunday 5:30pm to 10pm.
Laurier, Sherbrooke, Drummond
Leméac lists 1045 Laurier West, corner of Durocher, Outremont, H2V 2L1. Hours: Monday to Friday 11:30am to 3pm and 5pm to 11pm, Saturday and Sunday 10am to 3pm and 5pm to 11pm. The English menu page prints 19.00 beside butternut squash soup, 16.00 beside a mixed green salad, and 48.00 beside an 8 oz hanger steak with fries and maître d'hôtel butter, with no currency symbol on the menu (menu). Maison Boulud lists the Ritz-Carlton at 1228 Sherbrooke Street West, H3G 1H6. Hours listed: breakfast every day 7am to 10:30am, brunch Saturday and Sunday noon to 2:30pm, lunch Tuesday to Friday 11:30am to 2:30pm, dinner Wednesday to Sunday 6pm to 9pm. Monday, on those hours, is breakfast only. Bar George lists 1440 Drummond Street, H3G 1V9. Breakfast Monday to Friday 7am to 10am, Saturday and Sunday 8am to 10am. Lunch Monday to Friday 11:30am to 2:30pm. Dinner every day 5:30pm to 10pm. Weekend brunch Saturday and Sunday 10am to 2:30pm. The dinner menu prints 10 beside housemade bread and butter, 23 beside pâté en croûte, and 78 beside beef Wellington, again with no currency symbol (menus).
Notre-Dame Street West, and a menu the site argues about
Foiegwa's contact page gives 3001 Notre-Dame Street West. Supper: Monday to Wednesday 5:30pm to 10:30pm, Thursday and Friday 5:30pm to 11pm, Saturday 6pm to 11pm, Sunday 6pm to 10:30pm. Brunch: Friday 10am to 2pm, Saturday and Sunday 9:30am to 3pm. The homepage the same day advertised a late menu at 25$ and listed supper closing at 11pm every night, including Sunday. The two pages do not match. Use the booking button, not this paragraph, for the night you want.
Can you leave the island for the weekend?
78 of 134 women's cards and 57 of 124 men's cards in the area were marked open to travel. The flag does not name a town. Tourisme Mont-Tremblant, Tourisme Cantons-de-l'Est (Sherbrooke, Orford, North Hatley) and Québec City Tourism were open on 4 October 2026. None of them gave a drive time or a hotel rate worth repeating as a date cost. A bio that only says "travel" is using a word 76 women's previews in the Canada-wide sample also used.
A free account cannot sort by distance. On 3 October 2026 that control was on the Advanced tab, and the tab was locked. Gender, age and city still worked. Set the city before you decide the island looks empty.
Is sugar dating legal in Montreal?
The criminal law in Montreal is the federal Criminal Code. The city does not add its own offence. No statute we opened uses the words sugar dating. Section 286.1(1), current to 21 September 2026, makes it an offence to obtain another person's sexual services for consideration, or to communicate with anyone for that purpose (Criminal Code, s. 286.1). Section 286.5 says the person who provides their own sexual services is not to be prosecuted for the material-benefit offence in respect of that benefit, or for advertising their own sexual services. That limit does not mention section 286.1. The buyer is not covered by it.
The Department of Justice technical paper on Bill C-36, modified 3 February 2023, is an explanation, not the Code. It says the court looks for an agreement for a specific sexual service in return for consideration, contingent on that service and made before it happens. An ongoing relationship fails that test unless the evidence shows the payment was contingent on a particular sexual service. In one case the paper cites, gifts stayed gifts inside the wider relationship (Justice Canada, technical paper). That is the test, not a promise that a gift can never be an offence.
Quebec's Civil Code says full age, the age of majority, is 18 (Civil Code of Québec). The platform's service agreement, updated 12 May 2026, still requires 20 and the age of majority where you live. This is general information, not legal advice, and it does not judge any specific relationship. Tax depends on the facts. The longer account is the legal guide.
What should you watch for before you meet?
In the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre's 2025 tables, relationship fraud was 1,093 reports, 933 victims, and $63.3 M in reported dollar loss. The Centre received over 112,000 fraud reports that year and more than $704 million in reported losses (CAFC, top 10 frauds in 2025, modified 25 February 2026). Those figures are reports to the Centre, not a rate on SugarDaddyMeet.
The romance page, modified 16 January 2026, describes a person who builds a virtual relationship and then asks for money for travel, a medical emergency or family help, or pushes a crypto investment (CAFC, relationship and romance). Get Cyber Safe, modified 9 February 2026, adds gift cards and names "any financial request before meeting in person" (Get Cyber Safe). If the ask arrives as an Interac e-transfer before you have sat down at one of the rooms above, treat it as that request. Report it at reportcyberandfraud.canada.ca or 1-888-495-8501 (weekdays, 10am to 4:45pm Eastern, as the Centre prints it) and tell local police. The Centre stores the report. It does not investigate. More of the pattern is on the safety guide.
The platform's footer says: "SugarDaddyMeet does not conduct background checks on the members of this website." A photo check, which the platform says it decides within 24 hours, matches a face to a picture. It is not a background check. On 3 October 2026 the Flame and 1:1 Meetup tabs still suggested profiles from outside Canada, and SDM Select suggested profiles from the United States, even on accounts registered here. The Gallery was the tab that followed the Canadian filter. Do not treat the other tabs as a picture of Montreal.
Leave on your own. Place d'Youville, McGill Street and Saint-Jacques are busy enough that you can end the hour inside the room and walk out to a cab you ordered, or to the métro, without borrowing the other person's car. Agree that before the menus arrive. Membership is a separate bill: on 3 October 2026 both Canadian accounts were shown Premium at $300 a month, or $800 for three months with one complimentary month. The screen printed a dollar sign and no currency code. Neither account was billed. The cost page has Platinum, Chairman, and the refund window. Women who want the men's cards can start with how to find a sugar daddy. Men who want the women's cards can start with how to find a sugar baby.
